If you don't want to carry around an extra piece of equipment, and need a functional way to cut the odd piece of timber without drama, then you might wanna consider this.I bought this one to replace my old one that died after a half hour of cutting dense 2 x 6's. Tough device, but not that tough.Great dealGood golly, the things I did to this little jig saw. It just wasn't fair I tell you! I've cut three foot circles in half inch plywood, cut plumbing and conduit, floor boards and trim. I even cut HVAC vents because I didn't have a tin cutter, and the doggone thing just took the beating. I'm a very bad person when it comes to tools.So after five years of abuse (I got mine with my Craftsman version of the drill when it first came out) it finally gave up the ghost. Trimming shiplap boards for a ceiling while they were perched on a folding chair, the board chattering up and down with the action of the saw blade, not wanting to be cut in spite of my yelling and swearing. Alas, the poor thing could take it no more. The drill motor kept turning, but the blade didn't move. It was done.My boy looked at me and said, "you broke it" and I replied, "no son, it isn't broken. It's surrendered. It's given its life for me, and the projects I've brought it to. We can ask no more of it. Let us pause for a moment to consider all it has done."I tried to decide if I wanted to purchase another, or go with a legit standalone jig saw, with the extra cost and extra storage and likely one more battery model to deal with. Then I looked here on Amazon and saw what I paid for this thing -- $19.99 and free shipping -- and I clicked the Buy-It-Now button. What a trooper for just a double-saw!putting the blade onJigsaw works well and efficiently with one blade supplied. So far have used it to cut wood dowels and quarter-inch plexi sheets with good result. Important to let it work gently, meaning not to force or push strongly forward. For more even cut, I find it helps greatly to put clamps on material to cut. When separating handle from jigsaw unit even after short use, I find the inner connectors very hot - so to prevent another accidental touch of hot metal to skin, I put strip of masking tape near edge to indicate "hot" and another tape to help me quickly join together top part of handle with tool. I have become fond of this 20 volt modular unit and started acquiring different tools, including hedge trimmer, weed trimmer, circular saw, drill head, and now jigsaw. I find different tools use up battery at different speeds, with drill slowest before battery needs recharge, and trimmers fastest energy consumers. Even so I have no complaint as can easily recharge battery overnight or power it sufficiently in about four hours to finish a task. Jigsaw has become a favorite to use. Although I wish maker supplied a few extra blades for different materials, including metal, I found packs of them at local superstore (about seven dollars for set of five blades); note to get blade style with T mount to fit this attachment. When handled correctly, without force, it cuts smoothly and fast. This tool I will recommend.WOW! This Attachment is probably the best one I've used on the matrix so far (I also have the sander an the standard drill). So far I have only used it to cut 5mm plywood, but it made a surprisingly clean cut. Granted, I was using a new blade, but it remained straight and true to the line I drew. I felt like it was the right amount of power for something of this caliber. I would not open up a saw mill with this, but for making furniture in your home or for repairs its pretty great.It is a bit bigger than the other attachments, but is by no means bulky. In fact, I would say its the right size, as it helps to grip it.The blade changing is a piece of cake, and can accept both kinds of blades, however I have only tried U shanks. It gets a LITTLE warm (ive spent maybe 10 mins using it) and I expect it wear out the battery pretty quick. But it feels great in the hands, and you can really get on top of it and feel comfortable with it.I have never used any other jigsaw, but I would still say this was a good buy. I paid $14 for it and would 10/10 buy it again if I had to. Definately better built than the sanding head.i finally replaced my original jigsaw attachment. after years of use and abuse, i had managed to eradicate the little guideline pieces that keep the blade in place while in use, and my blade was running wild and bending all over town. i checked amazon and said "NO WAY!" to the unbelievable steal of a price and immediately picked up a new one. these things are great and will serve you a long time.when i say i abused my previous one, i mean it. i really gave it a good beating before those tabs broke off. had it for YEARS of extensive use.also, you can use this with the 12V drill with no problem. this tool has come in super handy for me on countless occasions.very happy to have a new one, these things are great!Nunca he sido fan de las sierras caladoras por varias razones, pero de cuando en cuando son utiles para ciertas tareas. Teniendo varios accesorios del sistema Matrix, este no podía faltar. Hay 2 aspectos que no me gustaron del todo. La herramienta de calienta después de cierto periodo de tiempo y en general al usarla (principalmente con el matrix inalámbrico) da la sensación de falta de potencia. Mi experiencia fue al cortar triplay de 3cm lo cual tampoco es despreciable. Espero con espesores más pequeños funcione mejor.Elegí este aditamento para un cobertizo que estoy haciendo y debo decir que funciona justo como lo imaginaba.El aditamento se siente resistente al tacto y a pesar de el uso constante que le he dado no he visto desperfectos. La hoja se mantiene fuertemente en su lugar y se desliza por el material con facilidad.Es importante hacer notar que este es un articulo que funciona con mucha menos potencia que una caladora dedicada o industrial. Noto un poco de dificultad a cortar en maderas muy rígidas aunque también depende mucho de la hoja que se use pero el hecho de que sea un articulo intercambiable explica el por qué.La hoja que viene incluida es un desperdicio, al verla la tire en seguida, no esperes mucho de ella. Pero me sirvió para saber que el tipo de hojas que se usa es de tipo "T".El mecanismo de seguridad se maneja con facilidad aunque recomiendo ampliamente que para desmontar una hoja se desconecte el motor primero ya que al sujetar el cuerpo para desmontar la hoja, los dedos quedan peligrosamente cerca del gatillo de acción.Recomiendo este articulo para entusiastas unicamente. De ninguna manera para profesionales. Esta caladora realizará el trabajo de pequeños proyectos pero no podrá con las exigencias de un trabajo más dedicado.Muy buena herramienta, ya l aprobé y funciona muy bien con madera no tan gruesa, corta muy bien y funciona bien es muy práctica para trabajos en casa, para un taller siguieron si comprar otro modelo, solo que no en donde conseguir los repuestos de las sierra cuando la trae se desgaste ya por el uso.En mu caso me resultó muy util esta herramienta, em efecto hay que completar las sierras con un paquete adicional para madera o metal, a pesar de que la primera que tuve salio defectuosa, el vendedor la reemplazo en poco tiempo, y esta segunda funciona mejor, es importante mencionar que esta herramienta es para uso casero, en donde se desempeña bien, teniendo algo de vibraciones y un ruido algo intenso, en general el desempeño es bueno.obviamente es un producto casero pero es muy util y de buena calidad, incluye la sierra de corte aunque es demasiado pequeña, parece de juguete, sin embargo hace su trabajo y el precio aqui en amazon es inmejorable. OJO necesitan tener el destornillador matrix que le corresponde, de otra forma no lo podran utilizar
